Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Continuum for Android and its Mac companion handle data, including the integrated Control Deck features in version 1.6. Continuum does not require an account and does not operate a cloud server for screen, audio, or input data.

Data handled by Continuum

• Local connection information. The paired Mac’s address and identity, a device token, and session information are stored in the Android app’s private storage. The Mac keeps the paired-device record. A six-digit code and approval on your Mac establish the pairing; subsequent connections reuse the saved device identity.
• Screen, audio, and input data. While connected, Continuum receives screen and optional Mac audio from your paired Mac. Touch, pen, keyboard, and control input are sent directly to that Mac over the local Wi-Fi or USB connection you choose. Live streaming data is processed in real time. Screenshots, annotations, and files that you explicitly capture or save are handled separately, as described below.
• Microphone audio. If you explicitly enable the microphone and grant Android's microphone permission, live microphone audio is sent directly to the paired Mac. Continuum does not record or retain it. Microphone access stops when you switch the microphone off or disconnect.
• Control Deck data. Deck reads supported playback, volume, app, system, and network information to show controls on your paired device. App layouts and preferences are stored locally. Clipboard access and file transfer are optional Mac settings. When enabled, clipboard content and selected files are exchanged with the paired device; clipboard history and transfer records may be kept locally on the Mac.
• Selected files and screenshots. Only files you select are uploaded from Android. Received files are saved on the Mac. Files selected for sharing from the Mac are copied into Continuum’s local sharing storage. Screenshot captures are stored on the Mac and can be downloaded to a location you choose. PDF and whiteboard content stays on your devices unless you export or share it.
• Purchase information. Google Play processes subscriptions and provides Continuum with product, purchase-status, and entitlement information. Continuum does not receive or store your payment-card details. Google's handling of this information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Collection, sharing, and advertising

Continuum does not send screen, audio, input, connection, or usage data to the developer. It contains no advertising or developer-operated analytics. Data sent directly between your tablet and the Mac you choose is used only to provide the display, input, audio, and Control Deck features. Google Play receives information needed to provide subscriptions and prevent fraud.

Security

Initial pairing requires the six-digit code shown by the Mac and approval on that Mac. Remembered devices authenticate with their saved credentials; mirroring uses short-lived connection grants. You can revoke a device from the Mac’s paired-device settings. Because local transport is not encrypted, use Continuum only on a private, trusted network or over USB. Do not use it over public or untrusted Wi-Fi.

Retention and deletion

Live screen streams, audio, microphone audio, and input are not retained as recordings. Explicit screenshots and saved files are retained separately. Connection settings and app preferences remain in the Android app's private storage until you replace them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. In Deck, long-pressing a screenshot lets you delete the stored capture; copies already downloaded remain. Clearing a transfer record removes the history entry without deleting received files or the sender’s original. Cleared Mac sharing entries also remove their cached sharing copies. Saved files and exported documents can be deleted using the operating system’s file controls. Clipboard history can be cleared in Deck. Forgetting or revoking a paired device removes its remembered access. Continuum has no user accounts or developer-held personal-data records to delete. Google retains subscription records under its own policies and legal obligations.

This website

The website and public downloads are hosted by Cloudflare. Visiting the site sends ordinary web request information, such as your IP address and browser headers, to the hosting provider. This website does not receive your mirrored screen, clipboard, or transferred files. Its interactive volume preview is a demonstration and does not control your Mac.

Children

Continuum is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

This policy may be updated when Continuum's data practices change. The revised date will appear at the top of this page.
